A Cricket’s Nutrients

A bearded dragon needs its nutrients and with Top Hat Cricket, our live feeders will provide just that. The nutritional value of our mid-ranged sized cricket holds more than 16 grams of protein, 2 grams of fiber, and 7 grams of fat. This will tide your bearded dragon over until their next feeding time and provide them with ample energy. Bearded dragons are omnivores though and need a balanced diet of both crickets, and fruits and vegetables. Typically, bearded Dragon lizards need a 70:30 ratio of crickets and fruits or vegetables. It is important to know that you cannot feed your pets crickets that you catch on your own because they run the risk of disease. Our crickets are bred to withstand the risk of disease, unlike wild crickets that can carry a variety of bacteria and problems.

Young Bearded Dragons

Adolescent bearded dragons are prone to want to eat only crickets because they require more protein as they are growing into adulthood. To counteract this, you should feed your bearded dragon at least 3 times a day and if they only want to eat the crickets, then after about 10 minutes, take out any uneaten crickets to avoid overeating. Once your bearded dragon reaches adulthood, they will eat more fruits and vegetables.
